WASHINGTON (AP) - New U.S. Census Bureau data shows that Kansas is home to 1 of 6 counties nationwide that have reached "majority-minority" status.
Finney County in southwest Kansas joins 303 of the nation's 3,142 counties that already had a minority of non-Hispanic whites.
The Census Bureau says Finney County became a majority-minority county between 2007 and 2008.
The other counties are in Mississippi, Florida, California and two in Texas.
