Blue Hill, NE, April 21, 2009 - The Blue Hill Fitness Center will be sponsoring a 5K Fun Run/Walk Saturday, May 23rd (Memorial Day weekend). The Fitness Center is looking forward to sponsoring something for the community and hopes it will become an annual tradition during Alumni weekend in Blue Hill. It is open to the public and all ages. Proceeds from the event will go to the Blue Hill Schools P.E. Program to promote physical fitness for our kids.
Registration begins at 8 AM at the Blue Hill Ball Fields (located at Hwy 281 & Park Drive). The walk/race will start from the Ball Fields at 9 AM. Preregistration is encouraged. Forms can be found at the Fitness Center and different locations around Blue Hill. It can also be downloaded at http://www.gtmc.net/bhfc_5k_flyer.pdf. The entry cost is $15 if you register BEFORE May 15. Preregistration includes a t-shirt. Registrations after May 15 and on the event date are $20 and t-shirts will be limited.
The runners and walkers will be tiered based on age and the number of entries. Cash prizes will be awarded. Kids 18 and under will be required to have a parent's signature on the registration/waiver form.
The walk/race will start at the Blue Hill Ball Fields and go through the streets of Blue Hill and finish back at the Ball Fields. Following the race refreshments will be available at the Blue Hill Fitness Center (located on Hwy 281, right by to the swimming pool & golf course).

If you are unable to attend but would like to donate to the fund for the Blue Hill Community Schools PE Program, donations can be made payable to and mailed to: Blue Hill Fitness Center, PO Box 531, Blue Hill, NE 68930-0531. Please be sure to indicate on your check that it is a donation for the School.
