The following is a press release from the Nebraska State Patrol:
(Grand Island, NE)- An investigation by the Nebraska State Patrol Troop C Headquarters- Grand Island has led to the arrest of 48-year-old Scott Stemper of 456 East 1st Street, Nelson, Nuckolls County, Nebraska
Stemper, who is the Chief Deputy for the Nuckolls County Sheriff's Office was taken into custody at approximately 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2009. The arrest followed a report of a possible domestic assault involving Stemper and his wife.
Stemper was lodged in the York County Jail on a charge of Domestic Assault. The Nuckolls County Attorney has requested a special prosecutor be named to handle the case.
