HUTCHINSON, Kan. (AP) - A former Hutchinson High School basketball coach and physical education teacher has been convicted of having sex with a student.

Thirty-5-year-old Bradly S. Specht was found guilty Friday in Reno County District Court after pleading no contest to a single count of unlawful sexual relations.

Prosecutors allege he had sex with a 16-year-old on and off school grounds.

Eventually, the girl confided in a friend, who told the girl's parents.

Specht resigned Feb. 25 after the allegations surfaced.

Sentencing is scheduled for July 6. Under state sentencing guidelines, Specht will likely receive probation.
