OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (AP) - Sprint Nextel Corp. is expanding its high-speed wireless broadband service to Atlanta, Portland and Las Vegas next month.
The nation's third-largest wireless began selling the service, using WiMax technology, in Baltimore last year. Sprint uses the WiMax network operated by Clearwire Corp., which is already selling the service under its own brand in those cities.
Overland Park-based Sprint merged its WiMax network with Clearwire last fall and is 51% owner of the company.
The company hasn't yet released pricing information for Atlanta, Las Vegas and Portland. In Baltimore, unlimited use of the WiMax network is included in a $79.99 plan that also includes up to five gigabytes of use of the standard network.
