Holdrege - Getting an education for about $9 an hour is a good deal. Entrepreneurs can take the PK EDGE class for that price and end up with a complete and thorough business plan and a better sense of how to do business. A very good deal.
The next PK Enhancing, Developing, and Growing Entrepreneurs (EDGE) class will start August 25th. The curriculum is built around writing a business plan for a start up or for an existing business but the class environment is far from being as dull as that may sound. Each class includes structured learning with an expert in business development, dynamic live speakers from the local business community, and group work time.
Participants are able to share information about their businesses and to network, but confidentiality is kept outside the class. They also form personal and business bonds that reap benefits long after the class is over. The process of writing the business plan helps the entrepreneurs improve business practices and sets them on a path toward profitability.
The twelve sessions are scheduled to start on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 from 6:00 pm to 9:30pm CST in Minden, and will be completed in early December. Lois Thom of Minden, MBA, business consultant and partner in her family's farm operation, is the class instructor.
Early registration fee is $375.00 until August 7th ($425 after). The fee includes tuition, textbook, and workbook. Business partners attend free and the class is limited to fifteen businesses.
Register by going online to the EDGE page at www.PKPartnership.org or contact Jean Issler at 308-995-2347 or email jean@jeanofficegenie.com.
PK EDGE is sponsored by the PK Partnership of Phelps and Kearney Counties, a public-private consortium of area professionals with a deep interest in helping businesses succeed in South Central Nebraska. Individual businesses donate funds to PK to keep the EDGE tuition cost affordable for small businesses.
