HUTCHINSON, Kan. (AP) - The family of a South Korean student has sued a former Buhler High School teacher convicted of molesting him, and the exchange company that placed the boy in the United States.

Seventy-year-old Richard Young is serving 13 1/2 years at the Norton Correctional Facility after being convicted in October of molesting the foreign exchange student, who was 15 at the time.

The boy's father filed a civil lawsuit July 23 in Reno County District Court against Young and Face the World Foundation, which placed the boy in Young's home in 2007.

The lawsuit alleges negligence by both Young and Face the World, based in Novato, Calif.

A spokeswoman for Face The World said Wednesday the foundation had "no response to (the lawsuit) at this time."
