Court date set in SE Neb. joyride, break-ins

Associated Press - October 26, 2009 6:25 AM ET

NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. (AP) - Four teenage boys and another young man face preliminary hearings next month in Otoe County Court for their alleged roles in a crime spree that included a joyride on a combine and thefts and burglaries.

Twenty-year-old Joshua Brammier of Otoe is charged with two counts of criminal mischief. Three 17-year-olds from Syracuse and a 16-year-old from Unadilla are charged with criminal mischief, burglary and theft.

Authorities say the criminal mischief charges stem from the September combine joy ride near Unadilla, which resulted in a power outage after the combine struck a power pole.

The group also is suspected in a break-in at a rural cabin and at the Otoe Steakhouse.

The court hearing is Nov. 9.
