AUBURN, Neb. (AP) - A 28-year-old Nebraska man has been given 21 years in prison for manslaughter in one county, domestic assault in another.
On Tuesday, District Judge Daniel Bryan sentenced James Mackey of Falls City to 20 years for manslaughter.
Authorities say Mackey was driving a stolen pickup on March 11, 2008, when he crashed east of Table Rock. Alisha Miller of Falls City was killed in the crash, and Mackey and two other people in the pickup were injured.
In a Richardson County case, the judge gave Mackey a year for domestic assault. The sentence is to follow completition of his term for manslaughter.
Authorities say Mackey dragged a Falls City woman down a flight of stairs in a headlock, picked her up and threw her out of a door, causing her serious injuries.
