LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - A Lincoln technology entrepreneur has given $1 million to a Nebraska Educational Telecommunications fundraising drive.

The drive for NET Foundations for Television and Radio has a goal of $25 million in membership and endowment support by 2012.

The entrepreneur, Steve Kiene, founded two companies, MindVision and eSellerate. He sold them to Digital River three years ago.

Kiene now works in Lincoln for Internap Network Services Corp., which is based in Atlanta. He also teaches at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

He has high praise for the Nebraska programming on NET Television and says it's important for NET to continue such fare, especially for rural areas.
