MULLINSVILLE, Kan. (AP) - A man has been arrested on suspicion of killing a woman in southern Kansas.

The suspect was taken into custody Friday and is being held in the Reno County jail in the death of the 35-year-old woman from Kiowa County.

The name of the victim wasn't immediately released.

Kiowa County Sheriff Kendal Lothman says deputies were responding to reports of gunshots when they found her body Friday night in a home near the small town of Mullinville.

Deputies in Reno County arrested the man later that night while responding to reports of a burglary in progress.
