Good News for Ag Leaders

Ag leaders meet to discuss issues facing the industry, as members of co-operatives from around the state met Friday to discuss adjustments they've had to make during this past year including wet weather and late harvesting.
Another issue on their minds is the state's economic shortfall, primarily the checkoff funds
that were spared. Lieutenant Governor Rick Sheehy spoke on that issue, reassuring the move was good for co-operatives.
"The Legislature made the choice to reappropriate those funds back to those different boards and not use them to close the gap for the shortfall," said Nebraska Lieutenant Governor Rick Sheehy.
Sheehy said every funding source had to be on the table and examined to work with the  current budget crisis.
