Police say the man was headed north on the street when he missed a turn and his speeding car left the roadway and landed in a retention pond. The man got out of his car and managed to reach the road before he collapsed. His body was found by the jogger about 6:45 a.m. on Monday.
The pond water was about 4 feet deep.
Deputy County Attorney John Childress identfied the man as 49-year-old Shawn O'Donahue of Gering.
