OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Omaha police have identified the man who plunged to his death from a sixth-floor window of an apartment as 31-year-old Shane Niesen (NEE-sen).

Police say it's not yet clear whether the man fell or jumped from the window at Jackson Tower in downtown Omaha. The homicide unit is handling the investigation.

Police received a report of a disturbance at the apartment building about 2:15 p.m. Friday. Officers arrived to find a man hanging from a window. Police say officers entered the apartment but were unable to prevent him from falling.

The man was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center with critical injuries. He died later Friday afternoon.
