Special Enforcement Planned for Spring Game

Posted: Updated:

The following is a press release from the Nebraska State Patrol:

Nebraska fans excited to check out the Husker football team are reminded to obey the posted speed limit as they make their way to Memorial Stadium for the 2010 spring game.  The Nebraska State Patrol will be working extra hours on Saturday, April 17, 2010, thanks in part to a $2,480 grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety (NOHS).

"For the past several years the spring game has been generating traffic similar to the volume experienced during a regular season contest," said Colonel Bryan Tuma, Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol.

The Nebraska State Patrol Aviation Support Division will aid Troopers and Communications Specialists during the special enforcement effort scheduled to begin in the morning and run through the evening hours on Saturday, April 17.

Colonel Tuma said, "With some 70,000 fans making their way to Lincoln and Memorial Stadium, our troopers will be visible and available in an effort to ensure motorists get to and from their destination safely."
