Sunday, one of them shared his story at a Grand Island church, but he said any faith he had is gone.  After twenty-two years behind prison bars, Curtis McCarty of Oklahoma said his faith in the justice system is also gone.
He was wrongfully charged for the rape and murder of a woman.
The F.B.I and work by 'The Innocence Project' finally brought him free, but he said he doesn't feel free.

"There's nothing positive. I mean I am free physically, but mentally I am not. I am always there and I am always with the men I left behind and the men who
died there, men whom I am certain are innocent," McCarty said.

He said it was a happy day for his parents when he came free nine months ago, but he didn't feel free personally.  He said he lost his life in prison.

Right now, 10 men are on death row in this state.
Nebraska's death penalty will be a top legislative issue in the coming weeks.
