Chocolate Dipped Strawberry and Champagne Cake

To make this celebration cake you will need the following:
2 types of cake - use a favorite recipe or a quick mix from the store:

  • Dark Chocolate cake
  • White cake

Strawberry preserves
Champange
Rich and Cream Chocolate frosting (homemade from a favorite recipe or store-bought will work as well)

To Build Your Cake:

Make the chocolate cake as instructed.
Split the batter into 3 6" pans and bake.

To Make the Champagne Cake:

Replace the water in the instructions (or cake mix) with an equal amount of champagne
Split the batter into 3 6" pans and bake.

Once the cakes are baked and have cooled, you will need 2 of the dark chocolate and 1 champagne to make this cake complete.

Assembly

  • Use a long knife and cut off the tops of each cake to make them even heights.
  • Place a Dark Chocolate layer on the bottom.
  • Ice with a rich chocolate frosting.
  • Spread about 2 TBSP of Strawberry preserves on top - keeping it away from the edges
  • Place the champagne cake layer on next
  • Repeat frosting with chocolate frosting & then 2 TBSP of Strawberry preserves
  • Place the 2nd Dark Chocolate layer on the top to complete your cake stack
  • Ice the entire cake with your favorite frosting.
