Nine People Arrested in Area Drug Busts

The following is a press release from the Cooperative Operation for Drug Enforcement Drug Task Force:

 

A joint operation involving law enforcement agencies associated with the Cooperative Operation for Drug Enforcement Drug Task Force (C.O.D.E), recently lead to arrest of several individuals.

Task force members including the Nebraska State Patrol, North Platte Police Department, Dawson County Sheriff's Office, Red Willow County Sheriff's Office, Ogallala Police Department, Drug Enforcement Administration, Homeland Security Investigations and the Federal Bureau of Investigations conducted undercover investigations which resulted in the arrest of several people for various controlled substance violations.

During the operation, authorities seized cocaine, methamphetamine, hydrocodone, steroids, marijuana and other prescription drugs. A vehicle and cash were also seized. The following individuals were arrested:

Jared J. Rosencrants, 21, of North Platte, was arrested for distribution of marijuana—Class III felony.

Anthony J. Leverington, 25, of North Platte, was arrested for two counts of distribution of cocaine—Class II felony and one count of possession of a firearm during a controlled substance violation—Class II felony.

Aaron L. Vieyra, 31, of North Platte, was arrested for two counts of distribution of cocaine—Class II felony.

Andrew C. Lujan, 30, of North Platte, was arrested for two counts of distribution of cocaine—Class II felony and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute—Class II felony.

Peter T. Bailey, 24, of North Platte, was arrested for two counts of distribution of amphetamine—Class II felony.

Scott R. Sundstrom, 38, of North Platte, was arrested for two counts of distribution of steroids—Class III felony.

Bradley L. Peterson, 21, of Ogallala, was arrested for distribution of methamphetamine, klonopin and vicodin—Class II and Class III felonies.  In addition, he was arrested for felony theft.

Billy A. Morrison, 19, of Lincoln, was arrested for distribution of hydrocodone—Class III felony.

Ricky L. Garcia, 40, of Lincoln, was arrested for distribution of methamphetamine—Class II felony.

The investigation continues and additional arrests are anticipated.

The CODE Drug Task Force is comprised of law enforcement agencies in west central/southwest Nebraska and uses its combined strength to work against drug dealers and users.

The CODE Drug Task Force is funded by a grant from the Bureau of Justice Assistance, administrated by the Nebraska Commission on Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice.
