Why did you choose those songs? Over the past few months, Bruning-Davenport has seen several important members of the local school and community pass away—one of our band members lost their father only weeks ago.
We have also seen the tragedies that have affected communities and families in surrounding schools as well. The band's performance is in honorable memory of those individuals, and is commemorated by the white ribbon worn on each member's jacket.
"Summon the Heroes" provides strong, soaring melodies that inspire hope and courage and was written for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.
What previous awards has your band won? First place class D at Yorkfest 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012; top 10 in class D at HOH last five years.
