February is American Heart Month.

Some people aware of heart disease are on medication, unfortunately for those who are not, the first time they experience symptoms could be their last.

Early symptoms of a heart attacks very from person to person.

Here are some common symptoms:

1) Pain or pressure on chest. It can be described as an elephant sitting on your chest.

2) Pain in the jaw.

3) Pain that radiates down your left arm.

4) Light headiness

5) Nausea

6) General feeling of not being well

7) Shoulder pain

8) Shortness of breath

Middle age smokers are stereotyped to be the common victim for heart attacks, however that is not always that case.

"The are some athletes in high school or college age that have had heart attacks many times because they had underlined heart conditions that weren't diagnosed." Director of Two Rivers Public Health Department Terry Krohn says.

Prevention is always best however is you think something is wrong, it is important that you get medical attention.
