A local hospital offers employees and community members an extra chance to brush up on their life saving skills.
Mary Lanning Hospital showed off its new basic life support training center during an open house on Thursday.
The center will provide online training and simulated events for cardiac arrest situations for medical staff on sight, and people like dental offices and day care providers.
Officials say the end product is to provide high quality CPR to everyone.
"The patients we receive from the community, they're always going to have a higher chance of survival if we do good CPR in the community," said instructor Josh Van Boening. "So any time we can increase the amount of CPR out in the field or improve the quality of CPR out in the field, we're doing a good service to the community."
The basic life support training center will officially be available starting March 1st.
