Two Departments Respond to St. Libory House Fire

Two fire departments responded to a Tuesday morning house fire that saw smoke billow from a central Nebraska home.

The call came in around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday that a home in St. Libory was on fire. The communities lies just north of Grand Island in Howard County.

The St. Libory Fire Department was joined by the Grand Island Rural Fire Department.

They brought in several trucks including water tankers as they attacked the fire and contained it.

They remained on scene for some time, focusing efforts on smoke coming from the attic.

They also ventilated the house, as smoke poured out an open garage door.

A volunteer from the American Red Cross was on hand to assist an occupant of the home.
