Many children have fears about going to the hospital.

For the past 20 years Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital has been educating children to help calm their nerves.

"By reaching young children at 1st, 3rd, and 5th grave, we can connect with all children as they go through elementary school." Public Relation Director Lisa Brandt says.

"This is so the little kids don't have any fears when they come back to surgery. We want to ease their fears." Operating Room Nurse Sarah Maendele says.

Students around the Hastings service area come to learn a wide range of health care all tailored to their level of learning.

Around 1,000 students will be touring the hospital within four weeks to understand more about surgery and injuries.

"The more information we give them really does help. We want to make it so its not a scary thing for them." Mandele adds.

This month the hospital will be giving tours to 3rd grade students.

Come March, 5th grade students will also receive a tour on sports injuries.
