Job Market Forces Businesses to Get Creative Finding Employees

Posted: Updated:

Businesses around Grand Island are looking for employees, something a little more difficult than you might think.

Bosselman held a career fair for fifty positions, in fields such as management, retail and hospitality.

The company's HR director says central Nebraska's unemployment rate is too low, the job market forces them to get creative.

Bosselman HR Director Craig Garrett said, "Hiring bonuses for some positions, we're just trying to set ourselves apart, attractive benefit packages, all those things we do in HR that helps to
attract people to us."

This is just one of many retail and restaurant operations hiring in Grand Island. Denny's held a job fair last week and Olive Garden opens Monday with 180 new jobs.
