5th Avenue Road Reopens in Kearney Months Ahead of Schedule - KHGI-TV/KWNB-TV/KHGI-CD-Grand Island, Kearney, Hastings

The City of Kearney Engineering Department announced Tuesday that Fifth Avenue from North Railroad Street to 25th Street is now open -- two and a half months ahead of the original completion date.

City officials credit Dan Roeder Concrete and their crew, along with subcontractors Midlands Construction and Broadfoot's Sand and Gravel, for the early completion.

"The early completion of this project will greatly help traffic flows during the Second Avenue construction, which begins after Cruise Nite weekend," a press release from the City of Kearney says.
