A North Platte daycare owner faces child abuse charges for allegedly hitting and kicking her young son and injuring him at her daycare Monday.

Amanda Hastings, owner of Little Monkey Child Care -- located at 3302 South Willow St. -- was arrested Monday at the daycare after officers from the North Platte Police Department responded to a child abuse report.

Police were told Hastings struck and kicked her son, injuring him. His age has not been released.

Hastings was arrested and taken to the Lincoln County Detention Center. She faces charges of felony child abuse.

As of Tuesday afternoon, she is no longer listed as an inmate on the jail's website.
