No matter how young...or old you may be...the July 4th 'Big Igloo Freedom Fest' had a festival full of fun events for everyone.
"There's food, obstacle courses, kids games, carnival games, prizes, water slides, rock walls...for all ages," said pastor Mitch Ivey.
Families gathered outside on Wednesday to enjoy free lunch, and of course those carnivals sweets. In addition to the sweets, they were able to enjoy the inflatables, old school bingo, carnival games, and water slides.
Festival officials wanted to make sure the town of Kearney didn't skip a bang or a boom this holiday season.
"We really wanted to give people who are stuck at home - and give them something to do," said Ivey.
Festivities ranging from the joy rides, to the roller coasters for the thrill seekers, and even places to cool off...packed the event tonight. Thousands showed up to celebrate America's freedom.
"We are expecting about 3,000 people today - and hope all of them enjoy their time," said Ivey.
As the flags around Nebraska sway in the sun, we wish America a happy birthday.
