A North Platte man has been charged with burglary and second-degree assault following an alleged break-in and knife fight early Tuesday morning.

Police say James Snyder, 34, broke into a 38-year-old man's North Platte home at 421 W 1st Street around 4:30 a.m. and then confronted him and another man with a knife. The victim told authorities a struggle ensued and he suffered a cut on his hand from the fight.

Snyder is being held at the Lincoln County Detention Center. A bond amount is not listed on the detention center's website.
