The sweltering sun has kids working overtime at the Adams County Fair.
Kids, cats, and air conditioning turned out to be a winning combination Thursday as the cat show attracted a crowd to the fair's air conditioned building.
Judges rated kids on their cat care and knowledge at the show.
But with temps approaching 100, kids in the barns are taking extra precautions with their animals in the barns.
Kory Heier of Kenesaw is showing a market steer on Friday. He said, "We're mainly keeping fans going, circulating, washing them a lot and giving them lots of water."
Adams County Fairfest has a full slate of events including livestock shows and carnival, plus concerts including Craig Morgan on Saturday night
Sunday there's a demolition derby, before events wrap up with the livestock auction Monday morning in Hastings.
