Ready, set, action! A Grand Island school rolled out the red carpet to welcome kids back to school.

Shoemaker Elementary brought the glitz and glamour on the first day of class, with a welcome reminiscent of a Hollywood premiere, complete with the red carpet.

But the stars are the kids, who are excited to be back in class.

It wouldn't be the first day without photos and a few tears. 

In keeping with the celebrity theme, this reporter shared some behind the scenes stories from NTV to get the kids excited about learning.
