Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney is unveiling their new multi-million dollar addition, the Ron and Carol Cope Heart Center.

This $63 million facility has been undergoing construction for two years, and now they are finally ready to show their new facility off.

A new addition to please thousands.

"Our physicians and staff are very excited about the new facility," said Marsha Wilkerson, Good Samaritan Hospital director of marketing and communication.

Right outside there's a statue of the Good Samaritan.

Then walking into the lobby there's a stone fireplace surrounded by a large waiting room and to top it off, there's a piano.

Then for surgery they have 9 operating rooms, each over 600 square feet...2 cath labs and 46 rooms almost 400 square feet.

And for the staff this new center will make performing surgeries easier. There are even new wash bays to keep doctors and nurses germ free.

"Good Samaritan Region is from the top tier counties in Kansas all the way up to the South Dakota border and over to the Colorado border," said Wilkerson.

Which is why they are adding their second Bell 429...the fastest medical helicopter in the state.

The kitchen staff will try to specialize meals for each patient in their new kitchen. And there are even flowers are right outside the cafeteria.

You can catch a tour yourself this Saturday from 12-6 p.m. right outside of Good Samaritan Hospital.
