Only a few more days until opening day at the Nebraska State Fair, and organizers are working to make sure the newest attraction will be ready in time.
A few weeks ago the truck carrying parts of the sky tram crashed and burned. Now, all the available pieces are coming together.
The accident slowed down the construction, but State Fair Executive Director Joseph McDermott says it didn't stop it.
"We've been busy identifying replacement parts, found all those parts, there will be a hydraulic system arriving on Monday, that we hope will be able to power the sky tram," said McDermott.
If that system works, the sky tram will be ready in time for opening day. McDermott said "We're fairly certain at this point the sky tram will be running, if not opening day, at least sometime throughout the fair.
