Make-A-Wish Speaker Offers Hope - KHGI-TV/KWNB-TV/KHGI-CD-Grand Island, Kearney, Hastings

It's a heartwarming feeling to help make wishes come true.

Thursday evening, members of the Kearney community came out to do just that at the sixth annual Make-A-Wish banquet.

It's one of their biggest fundraisers of the year, helping children to enjoy something they may not ever get the chance to do.

Funding like this allows tonight's keynote speaker to share that hope.

"What I want to say is don't let it get you down," said keynote speaker Hope Weber. "Never let it get you down because if you do you'll just feel bad about yourself and that's not something I would want you to feel."

Over 50 event sponsors helped support Thursday night's event, and over 11 additional sponsors donated over $2,000 each.
