United Way Asks Public to 'Find Their Inner Hero' at Open House

Hastings -The United Way of South Central Nebraska will kick off the 2012-2013 Fundraising Campaign on Friday, September 14th with an Open House celebration.

The open house will run from 11:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. and it should be noted that the United Way has moved office locations to 301 S. Burlington, Hastings - located within the Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce. 

The event will include a free lunch from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and refreshments throughout the day. 

United Way representatives will be available to share information about the their organization, the agencies that benefit from United Way funds, and show the Campaign Video.

"We felt an open house was a great opportunity to showcase what the United Way does and to share our new office location with the public," said Executive Director, Tabitha Fox. 

"We want to say thank you to the many individuals and businesses that have been supporting the United Way for years and celebrate our successes with them," Fox said.

Terry Anstine, of Five Points Bank of Hastings, has been appointed as the Campaign Chair for the 2012-2013 Campaign. 

The goal has been set at $451,000 which is the highest goal to date for the United Way and theme for the 2012-2013 Fundraising Campaign is "Release Your Inner Hero." 

The United Way is asking local residents to find their inner hero and help those in need.

United Way provides assistance to a wide variety of local agencies in Adams, Clay, Nuckolls, and Webster counties that help thousands of friends, neighbors, and co-workers. This spirit of cooperation is what it truly means to release your inner hero and create lasting change within our communities.
