Overton Community Hosts Benefit to Help Deputy's Family Rebuild

Posted: Updated:

A benefit to assist Phelps County Deputy Sheriff Lance Blythe, his wife Jocelyn and their son Camden, will be held Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Family Center in Overton, Nebraska.

A fire started by lightning on July 31st, destroyed the family's rural Overton home along with most of their possessions.

The Overton BBQ Boys will prepare their famous BBQ for the free will offering meal and area churches are providing delicious homemade salads and desserts.

Join us for a great evening as we help them rebuild!

If you are unable to attend the benefit, donations are being accepted in Bertrand at the Bank of Bertrand and the Convenience Plus Store.

The First Tier Banks in Holdrege, Elm Creek and Kearney are also accepting donations.

The Overton Family Center is at 610 1st Ave, by the football field.
