The Nebraska State Patrol in conjunction with the Norfolk Police Department and the Madison County Sheriff's Office arrested six motorists for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) during a weekend special enforcement effort.
The special enforcement, which included a DUI checkpoint and high visibility patrols, took place during the evening hours on Friday, Sept. 7 and continued into the early morning hours on Saturday, Sept. 8.
In addition to the six DUI arrests, officers arrested one driver for driving under the influence of drugs. Citations were also issued for, carrying a concealed weapon, driving under suspension, minor in possession of alcohol, and open container.
The special enforcement effort was made possible thanks in part to a $2,500 grant from the Healthy Communities Coalition in Madison and Cuming Counties.
