Tracy Black, 52, a Wyoming man, pleaded not guilty to a reduced charge of attempted bank robbery for a failed heist in the western Nebraska town of Wallace.

Black's trial was Monday in Lincoln County District Court. He was originally charged with robbery, but a prosecutor reduced the charge after reviewing the case.

Black is to appear in court again on Oct. 29. His bail was reduced from $250,000 to $125,000.

Police say Black and Drew Steier, 20, also believed to be from Wyoming, are accused of trying to rob the Farmer State Bank in Wallace last August. Police say they fled the bank without any money.
