Gov. Dave Heineman Recognizes the Renewable Fuels Industry - KHGI-TV/KWNB-TV/KHGI-CD-Grand Island, Kearney, Hastings

Nebraska is the second largest ethanol producing state in the nation.

Gov. Dave Heineman put emphasis on the importance of renewable fuels today proclaiming September Renewable Fuels Awareness Month.

"I, Dave Heineman the Governor of the great state of Nebraska do hereby proclaim September 2012 as Renewable Fuels Awareness month. And again I just want to emphasize the importance that renewable fuels play in our overall national security and national energy policy. This is important for America, this is important for Nebraska and I just want to congratulate the industries associated with this."

Nebraska has more than 24 ethanol plants and the industry employs more than 1,300 people in rural parts of our state.
