As part of Hastings College's 130 year anniversary, HC celebrated the inauguration of it's new president, Dennis C. Trotter.
Trotter said he owes his success to coaches, advisors and mentors. Trotter pointed out his mentors; Bill Robinson, president emeritus of Whitworth University, and Hall of Fame football coach, Tom Osborne. Both Robinson and Osborne spoke about the importance of an education at the ceremony.
Trotter said "It's not about a president coming in who could solve problems, but it's about working with the community."
Presenting the President's Medallion to Trotter was Tom Osborne, who said good leadership is something Hastings College needs.
Osborne said "He [Trotter] impresses me as a person with excellent character, good values, good vision for where the college needs to go. That's going to be so important in this day and age because there is fewer and fewer students out there, and more and more people competing for those students."
Hastings College anniversary celebrations continue throughout the weekend.
