Kearney County Hires New County Attorney - KHGI-TV/KWNB-TV/KHGI-CD-Grand Island, Kearney, Hastings

Kearney County has hired a new county attorney to replaced Neleigh Korth, who resigned from the job in July to join the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.

Melodie Bellamy was approved for Kearney County's county attorney by the Kearney County Board of Supervisors earlier this month.

Bellamy previously worked as deputy county attorney for Buffalo County since 2000. Bellamy's last day in Buffalo County was Friday.

Bellamy will serve the rest of Korth's elective term, which ends in January 2015.
