The Kearney Area Community Foundation is inviting the public to come and learn how to protect the finances of their non-profit organizations.
On Monday, Sept. 24 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the foundation will host a luncheon at the Merryman Performing Arts Center.
The focus of the event is how non-profit boards and their members can be effective in stopping potential fraud and embezzlement within charitable organizations. A speaker will talk about his own personal experiences with non-profit embezzlement in Neb.
A panel of local CPAs will also be at the event to answer finance questions.
