The Scotts Bluff County Sheriff's Office is investigating the mutilation of a 3-year-old dog.
Officers are investigating the incident that occurred Friday night northeast of Gering. Christopher Henderson's German shepherd, Ike, crawled home after being mutilated on his stomach region.
Henderson says that Ike was partially skinned from his belly to his genitals. The vet Henderson took Ike to recommended the dog be euthanized, which Henderson did.
Henderson says the vets also told him that Ike's injuries were inflicted by a person, not by another animal or wire fence.
No arrests have been reported.
Animal interest groups from around the country have posted awards for information about the person that mutilated Ike.
