Ribbon Cutting At Kearney County Hospital Unveils New Additions

Posted: Updated:

Minden – On Friday,  Kearney County residents had a chance to see the additions made to the Kearney County Health Services (KCHS) hospital in Minden.

A ribbon cutting for the Kearney County Hospital new addition took place at 3 p.m. at the south entrance of the hospital.

Tours of the hospital's addition took place following the Ribbon Cutting.

"We are thrilled to show everyone our new addition," said Fred Meis, CEO for KCHS.

The $10 million KCHS project includes an 8,600 square foot hospital addition and renovation of 7,900 square feet of the current hospital facility. The ribbon cutting celebrates the completion of the addition.

The renovation is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2013.

"I thank our patients and community for their patience," Meis said. "I know they will be very pleased with the addition and renovation once it is entirely completed."

The addition will contain ten new in-patient private rooms, a new cardiac rehabilitation department, a new entrance, an admissions and waiting room area as well as additional parking.

The renovation phases include renovating part of the acute care wing to be converted into a new, larger, two-bay emergency room with waiting area, adding four outpatient exam rooms with two outpatient physician offices, a pharmacy area, nurses' station and procedure room.
