Lincoln will be getting a new indoor football team for next spring. The Council Bluffs Express will become the Lincoln Haymakers.
The Lincoln team will be part of the new Champions Professional Indoor Football League and is all set to play in Lincoln's Pershing Auditorium.
Ho-Chunk Inc., the Winnebago tribe's economic
development corporation, owns the team along with Justin Hayes and Brad Lindgren.
The
Lincoln Haymakers will hold an open try-out on Oct. 20. But the team has
already signed two former Nebraska running backs: Marlon Lucky and Cory Ross, who will also serve as assistant director of player personnel and help with marketing.
