McCook Man Pleads Not Guilty to Nursing Home Sexual Assault - KHGI-TV/KWNB-TV/KHGI-CD-Grand Island, Kearney, Hastings

A former McCook volunteer fireman has pleaded not guilty to charges of sexual assault.

Christopher Mehringer, 44, faces allegations that he sexually assaulted a resident of the Hillcrest Nursing Home located in Red Willow County. Prosecutors say the incident occurred in May when Mehringer was working at the nursing home.

Mehringer is scheduled to go to trial on Oct. 15 for the misdemeanor charge that says he had sexual contact with someone who was physically or mentally incapable of resisting.

Hillcrest says Mehringer left his job at the nursing home in late July. Mehringer also resigned from the McCook Fire Department where he was a volunteer. He has a license to work as an emergency medical tech.
