A mid afternoon semi/car accident at a busy Grand Island intersection sends one person to the hospital.
About 4:30 Thursday afternoon, a semi rammed the back of a car at the intersection of Second and Broadwell. Authorities say the truck driver thought the car was going to go through a yellow light but didn't and the truck couldn't stop fast enough, hitting so hard it shattered the back glass.
The female driver of the car was taken to St. Francis emergency room with complaints of arm and head pain.
West-bound traffic was reduced to one lane for about 45 minutes, and the semi driver was cited for careless driving.
