Two Traffic Stops Lead to Seizure of 188 lbs. of Pot

Lincoln- Two separate traffic stops over the weekend led to the arrests of two men and a seizure of 188 pounds of marijuana.
Just before 11:30 a.m. on Sunday a trooper stopped an eastbound 2006 Nissan Titan pickup for speeding, about three miles west of Kearney on I-80. During a search of the pickup, the trooper found 83 pounds of marijuana stashed in three suitcases in the cab and bed of the pickup.
The driver of the vehicle, 26-year-old Neftali Gutierrez Barajas, a Mexican National, was lodged in the Buffalo County Detention Center on a charge of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
In a separate incident on Friday, a trooper stopped an eastbound 2012 Lincoln MKZ, for speeding on I-76, four miles west of Big Springs.
The stop occurred just before 10:30 a.m., (MDT). During a search of the car 105 lbs. of marijuana was found in two duffle bags in the trunk of the car.
The driver, 50-year-old Sylvester Cage of Plymouth, Minn., was lodged in the Deuel County Jail on a charge of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
