Grand Island Man Killed in Combine Accident - KHGI-TV/KWNB-TV/KHGI-CD-Grand Island, Kearney, Hastings

Authorities say a man has died after being run over by a combine in a southeast Nebraska cornfield.

The accident occurred Tuesday morning in a field about five miles south-southwest of Geneva.

The Fillmore County Sheriff's Department says James Gabel, 58, of Grand Island, worked for Allied Genetics in Grand Island and was measuring a test plot when the combine backed over him.

The department says Gabel died after being taken to Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva.
