A grass fire has burned more than 800 acres of land in western Nebraska.
Logan
County Fire Chief Frank Kramer says firefighters were called out
to a one square mile area along U.S. Highway 83 south of
Stapleton around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
It took crews from Stapleton, Tryon, Arnold and North Platte about five hours on Tuesday to control the fire. Crews were also needed to work on hot
spots the following morning.
Kramer says the flames threatened one home but did not do any damage. No injuries have been reported.
Kramer says a spark from a chain saw started the fire.
