Kearney City Council Candidates Share Vision in Forum

Posted: Updated:

The Kearney Area Young Professional Network hosted a forum for all the Kearney City Council members.

This gave them a chance to speak their minds on their vision for the city.

"Looking forward to working with our youth, getting our youth involved here in town," said Jim Bunger.

"I believe that a good deal of what has happened here is positive for everyone who lives here in terms of the economics," said Larry Butler.

"I understand city government," said current Kearney mayor Stan Clouse.

"Probably what really stimulated my interest in running for city council the first time was my participation in youth leadership here in Kearney," said current city council member Bruce Lear who is running again.

"I'm running for city council because I want to be a businesses friendly, fiscally conservative candidate," said Jonathan Nikkila.

There are three spots open on the city council.

The election is on Nov. 6th.
